This script generate statistics of PPP disconnection.
Specifications
This script is made to analyze how many times an ADSL lines is disconnected. It is usefull to guess if something goes wrong and at which rate.
Statistics:
- per day
- per week
- per month
- since the beginning
Statistics displayed for hours/week day/month/year:
- timeline
- % of connection availability,
- number of disconnection, reconnections
This software is syslog based. It is run once and parsed every syslog and detect connection/disconnection using pppd messages. It can be run incrementally (detect the last event of the previous run). At the beginning you will get at least one month of analysis before you ever think to use this tool.
